Zirakpur, In a collaborative effort to preserve and restore the natural beauty of Gazipur forest, Municipal Corporation (MC) Zirakpur, Green Planet Society, and Pukaar - The Voice of Humanity joined forces for a comprehensive clean-up drive. The initiative aimed to address environmental concerns arising from plastic waste, particularly debris accumulated during the July floods in Punjab.
The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of students from Gazipur Government School, who volunteered their time and energy to contribute to the environmental cause. Notable environmentalist and youth activist, Mr. Vishal Rana, renowned for his commitment to a 75-day Swachhta Challenge, actively engaged in cleaning the area, setting an inspiring example for others.
The leadership of Green Planet Society, including President Sumit Bhardwaz and General Secretary Jagbir Mehla, along with Kamal Kishore Soni and Srikant, played pivotal roles in organizing and coordinating the successful clean-up drive. Mrs. Shivani Raina, President of Pukaar, took the opportunity to showcase innovative solutions by demonstrating benches made of Eco bricks, emphasizing the importance of eco-friendly alternatives in waste management.
