Van Mahotsav Plantation in Gazipur Dense Forest
Gazipur, The Van Mahotsav plantation in Gazipur dense forest was recently organized by Municipal Committee in collaboration with Pukaar and Green Planet Society. The event witnessed promising commitments from various stakeholders, including DFO Mohali and the EO of Zirakpur Municipal Council, Ravneet Singh.
During the event, Chief Guest MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa expressed his vision for a greener and more sustainable city, highlighting the significance of planting trees and preserving natural habitats. Guest of Honer DFO Mohali, in a pledge of support, promised to provide plants for the initiative, ensuring its successful implementation.
EO Ravneet Singh, representing the Zirakpur Municipal Council, extended his full support to the cause. Recognizing the critical role played by green spaces in improving the environment and enhancing the quality of life for citizens, Singh promised every possible assistance from the council in the development of the green belt.
One of the key achievements highlighted at the event was the development of a forest in Gazipur, Zirakpur, undertaken by the Green Planet society as part of the Mission Green Zirakpur 2030. This commendable initiative showcases the commitment of the society towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.
The event also acknowledged the contributions of individuals and organizations that have played a vital role in the Mission Green Zirakpur. Shivani, from the Pukar NGO, was recognized for implementing the benches eco bricks project in the forest, which promotes eco-friendly and sustainable practices.
Furthermore, Jorawar Singh, Mrs. Sudesh Mittal, Rupesh Bali, and Gazipur Govt School were honored by MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa for their significant contributions to Mission Green Zirakpur. Their efforts have made a tangible difference in promoting environmental consciousness and fostering a greener future.
